| The new site is very different from
the old one. Unlike the old Show & Sell program, this new program
was designed specifically for buying and selling your doll related items
and contains dozens of new features. We've modified and tested the program as best we can, and now we're about ready to open but we need actual users to register and place sales ads so we can find and eliminate any final bugs. A soft opening is a trial period for this new
software program. During this period we monitor site performance and make small
adjustments. Anyone wishing to join the new site must register. Registrations from the old Show & Sell site are no longer valid. The soft opening is being announced here only. |

New Features |
| Privacy - It is no longer required that you post
your email address in your sales ads. A new private messaging system allows for other registered members to contact you within the site. This allows you to place a sales ad without having to publish your email address and other registered members can contact you. You have the option of including your email address in your sales ad if you like. Doing so will allow non-registered members to contact you via email. Self-Deleting Ads - Sales Ads will automatically self-delete if not renewed. Every sales ad placed will be displayed for 30 days, (unless you delete it) but can be renewed. If you do not delete the sales ad yourself, it will remain in place for 30 days. When your sales ad has run for 23 days you will receive an automated email notifying you that your sales ad will expire in 7 days. The email will also contain a link to the sales ad if you wish to renew it. During the 7 day period, you can renew your sales ad for 30 more days. If you don't renew it, the sales ad disappears after the 30 day period. This new self-deleting feature will eliminate all those old sales ads that cluttered up the old Show & Sell site.
Dynamic Categories - A totally new concept in categorizing items! Have you ever wanted to list an item in a category that didn't exist? With the new Dynamic Category system you can create that category on the fly! Have you ever visited a website and clicked on a category only to find that there's nothing in it? These dynamic categories are never empty. When you list an item, you can choose to place it in one of the categories that are already there, but if you don't see the category you want, you simply create a new one by typing it in. This allows you to create a category that best applies to your sales item rather than being forced to use a pre-existing category that may not suit your needs. For instance, if someone were to sell a chair for a 12" doll, they probably would want to create a category for it, so they create the category: 12" Doll Chair. That 12" Doll Chair category will exist until all sales ads in that category are deleted, and then it will disappear. So, if no one else comes along and places a sales ad in the 12" Doll Chair category, and the only item in that category is deleted (sold or expired), the category will cease to exist. This method prevents visitors from seeing categories with no items in them.

We realize that few people like change, which is the main reason we let the old site run as long as it could.
As with anything new, we know that the first week or so you might find it unfamiliar which could result in forming a negative opinion.
However, we think this new program is a vast improvement over the old program and we hope you will feel the same way.
